New celebrity chef at Newark Showground

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 29, 2009 – Deep in the heart of Newark Showground’s professional catering kitchens, a chef is hard at work, stirring bubbling pans, chopping fresh herbs, striving for perfection.
Focused on honing his latest recipe, Richard Morton, head chef at the Showground, is Boundary Sound’s resident celebrity chef and is preparing for his next radio appearance.
Passionate about cooking, Richard says,
“I was initially approached by Boundary Sound with a request to appear on Paul Walker’s Sunday programme and demonstrate to listeners how easy it is to make delicious, home-cooked meals.”
He smiles and continues,
“But I’ve never harboured any secret desires to become a celebrity chef!
“However, I do love the idea of passing on some of my favourite traditional English recipes and encouraging people to try them for themselves.”
Richard has been cooking for nearly 30 years and has been head chef at Newark Showground for 12 years, leading a dedicated team of three chefs.
He continues,
“We work very closely with local suppliers to ensure we have the freshest local produce available and I think this is key to cooking successfully.
“At Newark Showground I’ve catered for over 1,500 people at once and I’ve cooked intimate gourmet meals for six. If you have good ingredients then I think half the battle is over. After that, you just need to add some cooking passion.”
And with that comment, Richard turns to continue working on his next recipe for the show.
